Duration: 2 hours (90 Minutes on the Water) £40 per person

When: Weekend sessions, 10.00, 12:30 and 14.45
Ages: 18 + (Try a private group sessions if you’d like to bring under 18s)

The Introduction to Standup Paddleboarding session is for those new to SUP, or those wanting to bring confidence to their paddleboarding.

You will be in a group of fellow local paddlers also at the start of their SUP adventure. At WHATSUP Training you will learn the essentials to flow with confidence and paddle with precision.

As a Paddle UK Delivery Partner – our introduction sessions are recognised Paddle UK Start Award, upon completion of the full session with us you can be registered for the Award and claim your certificate* at no additional cost.

Includes

  • Small group training (maximum of 8 people) with a qualified and experienced Paddle UK Coach or Instructor
  • Clothing and equipment information, think of it like a crash course in everything you need to physically get yourself on the water, covering all the types of equipment you’ll need
  • Tips for getting on the water including how to get safely on and off your SUP from different places you are likely to paddle
  • Learn to paddle with practical skills such as paddling forward, turning and stopping… pretty much everything you need to get started and moving, along with standing up on your board (if you want to)
  • Staying safe on and off the water, you’ll learn about how to stay safe and make the most out of your paddle session
  • Please also take this opportunity to ask advice on how to start your new life of adventure on the water.
  • On completion of this session, you are able to be awarded with the Paddle UK Start Award*.

What to expect

  • Meet your instructor and get ready to learn some new skills on the water, we’ll help you with kit and equipment to get you ready for the water.
  • We’ll run you through some essentials on land before walking your boards a couple metres to the launch point.
  • After you’ve been for a paddle, learned some new skills, and most of all had some fun and enjoyed your first session, we will get back to dry land and have a chat to conclude the session exploring where you can next take your paddle adventures to progress your paddle skills.
