Venue information

We are based generally at Thrapston, at the moorings next to the Nine Arches Bridge / Islip public mooring.
Access to the mooring is via the footpath that is located in the middle of the wooded copse area.
We do operate from other locations along the River Nene depends on the season and the session.
Please make sure to read the location in the booking information, at time of booking.
Accessibility.
The site offers access to the river is via a public, Environment Agency location.
There is a good footpath which leads down to the mooring area which is well maintained flat grass.
Access to the river is from either the mooring or the grass area adjacent. except at the wettest times of there year.
Please be aware there is a small to medium drop down from the bank edge to your paddle craft.
In the summer it is often easier and more fun to step down into the river and then hop on to your board, this is all part of the fun of paddling on the river.
For this reason access unfortunately is prohibitive for people with poor mobility and requiring adaptive paddling.

Why did we pick this spot.
With fantastic access to the river, 9 Arches is popular with all types of paddle craft.
From here we can use both up steam and down stream of the bridge for training with great scenery.
We can go on great paddles both ways to allow us to train in safe navigation of bridges, structures and the changing dynamics of a river.
